Strong agricultural line-up heads to auction between Lichtenburg and Koster

Farmers and agricultural businesses in North West will have a sizeable selection of machinery and equipment to consider when Brocor Auctions brings the Grootpan sale to auction on Thursday, 8 October.

Taking place at Du Preez Landgoed between Lichtenburg and Koster, the auction brings together tractors, planting and harvesting equipment, agricultural implements, trucks, bakkies and other farm assets in one substantial agricultural sale.

A look through the catalogue shows that this is considerably more than a small farm clearance. Among the tractor line-up is a 2019 Case Magnum 380, together with a New Holland T7040, John Deere 6820, 6630 and 6125M, and a Massey Ferguson 6475.

The implement selection is equally broad. Two John Deere 1720 planters feature in the catalogue, including a 16-row unit with a precision system, alongside a 2025 Massey Ferguson 1840, Claas Disco 320 mower, Unia round baler, Challenger sprayer and a range of tillage, fertiliser and planting equipment.

There is heavier equipment too, including a 2011 SEM 639 front-end loader, while the wider sale extends into vehicles and livestock transport with a Ford F-Series and double-axle cattle trailer also appearing in the catalogue.

That mix is what makes this auction interesting. Instead of concentrating on one type of asset, it gives farmers and agricultural businesses an opportunity to look across several areas of an operation, from tractors and planting equipment to spraying, loading, transport and general implements, in a single sale.

The Grootpan auction takes place at 10:00 on Thursday, 8 October 2026 at Du Preez Landgoed, between Lichtenburg and Koster, with Brocor Auctions conducting the sale.
