KwaZulu-Natal’s construction and transport sectors will have a sizeable line-up of equipment to consider next week, as a major mixed auction brings construction plant, trucks, trailers and vehicles to Shakaskraal on Tuesday, 6 October.
The sale, being conducted by WH Auctioneers on behalf of WesBank, Capitec and liquidators, stands out particularly for the depth of heavy construction equipment heading under the hammer.
Among the headline lots are several unused 2026 machines, including JCB JS205 and JCB 215 excavators, a Hyundai R210 excavator, Hyundai R340L, Kobelco SK380XDLC-10 and a SEM 920F grader with ripper.
They will be joined by established heavy-equipment names including a 2022 Caterpillar 140GC grader, Caterpillar 320D excavator, Caterpillar 349D2 and Volvo EC240BLC, giving contractors and plant operators a considerable range to work through before auction day.
And this isn't exclusively a yellow-metal sale.
The wider catalogue stretches across TLBs, wheel loaders, rollers, tipper trucks, truck tractors, trailers, forklifts, tractors, generators, rollbacks and lowbeds, together with vehicles, containers, solar equipment and tools.
Truck buyers can also expect names including Mercedes-Benz, MAN, Scania, Isuzu and FAW amongst the broader line-up.
For KZN buyers, the auction is also another sign of a growing auction presence in the region from WH Auctioneers. While WH is not new to KZN, its regional auction programme is still relatively young, and its recent sales have increasingly brought substantial commercial and industrial stock into the local auction calendar.
The assets can be inspected at WH KZN, Woodmead Industrial Park in Shakaskraal, with viewing available on Friday, 2 October and Monday, 5 October from 09:00 to 16:00.
Bidding gets underway at 10:30 on Tuesday, 6 October, with buyers able to participate either live or online.
