200 vehicles head to MFC auction, from everyday hatchbacks to an S63 AMG
For buyers looking for their next vehicle, next week’s MFC Bank Vehicle Auction is shaping up to be one of those catalogues where the variety may be as interesting as the numbers.
The current run list sits at around 200 vehicles, with the bulk of the auction made up of the cars South Africans use every day.
Hatchbacks account for roughly half the catalogue, with Volkswagen, Toyota, Renault, Hyundai and Suzuki particularly well represented.
It is also a relatively modern line-up. Around 80% of the vehicles currently listed date from 2019 to 2024, putting a substantial portion of the auction into the newer used-car market.
For buyers shopping for practical transport, that means plenty to work through. But there are some considerably more expensive names hiding among the everyday stock.
A Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG sits at the premium end of the catalogue, while the bakkie and SUV selection includes a Toyota Hilux Legend RS, Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Peugeot Landtrek and Toyota Fortuner.
Another useful feature of this particular catalogue is the amount of condition information available before bidding. Most of the vehicles currently listed have Dekra condition and diagnostic reports, giving prospective buyers additional information to consider alongside the individual vehicle details.
That doesn't replace doing your homework. MFC states that auction vehicles are sold “voetstoots” or as-is, that odometer readings are not guaranteed and that buyers are responsible for verifying vehicle information before bidding. MFC Auctions
The mix is perhaps what makes this auction worth watching. Someone looking for an affordable compact commuter could be browsing the same catalogue as a buyer searching for a late-model bakkie, family SUV or high-performance luxury car.
And with around 200 vehicles currently on the run list, it is a good example of just how broad a bank vehicle auction can be.
For buyers considering finance, Auction Finance is available on-site at MFC Auction House, with pre-approved finance available on qualifying vehicles. MFC’s current auction information lists Bonny Ntsaluba | 073 559 0199 as the Auction Finance contact. MFC Auctions
